Flint water vote expected today from city council

A major vote is planned for later today by the Flint City Council on the future of water for its residents.

The city council will vote whether it should join an effort to build a new water pipeline to Lake Huron.

Right now Flint receives its water from the City of Detroit.

Flint's mayor and the head of the county drain commission say the move would save the city millions of dollars.

Flint's emergency financial manager would have the final say on the matter.
