Flushing Township home destroyed by large fire

An anonymous hero is being credited with saving a man inside the home as well as his dogs.

A woman who was driving by spotted the smoke. She ran to a neighbor's home and got them to call 911; she didn't have a cell phone.

The woman then ran to the home and banged on the door. This gave the man and his dogs the time they needed to get out before the home was engulfed.

A large fire has destroyed a home in Flushing Township.

A neighbor spotted smoke in the garage of the home and alerted the home owner. Everyone, including the owner's dogs, made it out of the home.

The house was located on the 1000 block of Stanley Road.

The flames were too intense to save the home.
