A former MidMichigan teacher, who had sex with a then 16-year-old student, will spend at least 4-years in prison.
The prosecution says, Marcie Rousseau should be locked up for a lot longer.
However, her defense says it's too harsh and that the teen-victim should face penalties too.
The former Freeland teacher walked into the courtroom a free woman, but later walked out a felon.
The student who testified against 34-year-old Marcie Rousseau said they had sex at least 100 times.
Rousseau pleaded guilty to the 21-Saginaw County charges and no contest to the charges in Midland County involving the same student.
She worn her wedding ring in court and her husband, who's accompanied her to all of her proceedings, watched from the back of the courtroom.
Rousseau will spend at least 4-years in prison.
Saginaw County Prosecutor Mike Thomas says, "I don't think that it's too harsh. I don't think it's harsh enough."
Defense attorney Jim Brisbois, Jr. says, "You have a young man that's scored in the top five percentile on his SAT's. He's a B+ student. He took part in this also. He's 16 years old. He courted her, bought her lunch, brought her flowers."
The Midland County sentence is the same.
She'll serve those terms at the same time.
Rousseau's attorney tried to push sentencing until after Christmas. He says the punishment is too severe.
