Six people are hospitalized, four in critical condition, after a traffic crash in Jonesfield Township Tuesday afternoon.

The Saginaw County crash team is investigating the accident that shut down part of Gratiot Road just east of Chapin for about three hours.

The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. when, authorities said, a Chevy Malibu carrying four teenagers lost control and crashed into a minivan. The two women inside the minivan sustained some injuries. They were taken to an area hospital.

All four teenagers are also hospitalized. One of them was airlifted.

A Saginaw County Sheriff's lieutenant told NBC25 none of the injuries are life-threatening.

The Jonesfield and Richland Township fire departments also responded to the scene.
