If you wanted a chance to check out some wildlife, Saturday was the day to do it.
The Saginaw Children's Zoo welcomed families for free between the hours of 10a.m. to 4p.m.
Saginaw area credit unions hosted the event titled 'CU at the Zoo."
The day focused on education.
"Education obviously is very important, it's one of our pillars that we want to represent as a zoo. Anything that endorses involvement and education is obviously something that we want to support," said Robin Carey, education supervisor.
The first 500 kids received free rides on the carousel and train.
The zoo offered back to school supplies to help kids start the year off on the right foot.
