T he spot light has been on the future of the Buena Vista school district and their students for some time. Wednesday morning is expected to be the last day of school and the light appears to be dimming along with future plans. The districts's Board of Education met and voted to lay off teachers and staff members when they approved next years' budget. The board also approved a request to borrow 2.5 million dollars from the state. The district doesn't have the funds to open in September and has been operating on state funds.
