The statewide average for the price of a gallon of gas rose to $4.00 Saturday. In mid-Michigan motorists were paying as high as $4.15 a gallon in some spots. Gas stations selling gas below the four dollar mark Saturday saw lines of cars in hopes to pump before the price hikes up above $4.00. Michigan's avaerge of $4.00 a gallon is well above the nationwide average of $3.64 a gallon. That's according to gasbuddy.com.
Gasbuddy.com reports that an unknown glitch at a refinery is pushing the prices up. No word on when a decrease will occur or if the prices will soar even higher.
