The Genesee County Prosecutor's office is recognizing National Crime Victims?? Rights Week, and kicked off the week at the Courtland Center Mall Sunday
Interns from Saginaw Valley State University who work in the Genesee County Prosecutor??s office and crime victim advocates set up an information center and offered resources for victims of all kinds of crimes, including domestic and sexual assault, stalking and scams.
Their goal, they say, is to help people understand their rights and navigate the red tape when they've been affected by crime.
"We had a brother of a homicide victim and he was telling us how tough it is to navigate the system and that's why we're here, to let people know that they do have rights,?? said Cheryl St. Charles, an intern from SVSU.
Crime Victim advocates will be set up in the 67th Circuit Court at 900 S. Saginaw Street on Monday.
