Genesee County shows off new water treatment plant ahead of KWA

LAPEER COUNTY, Mich. - Some water customers in Genesee County will soon be getting their water from Lake Huron and the KWA.

Tuesday afternoon, the Genesee County Drain Commission gave people a first look inside the state-of-the-art Genesee County Water Treatment Plant.

Water from the lake will travel just 6 hours before it's treated and sent on to customers.

The plant will begin treating water as soon as Saturday or Sunday.

Customers will be sent notices ahead of the switch.
