Good apples: Students to start Vassar Public Schools orchard
VASSAR, Mich. --You could say that there are plenty of good apples within the Vassar community.
Students, staff and community members are coming together to start an orchard, according to a news release.
The City of Vassar donated a section of land across from the Townsend North Elementary playground to plant apple trees.
The trees were purchased by Wolverine Human Services and they’ll also be providing the tools to plant them.
The trees will be planted and maintained by Vassar High School Transition Students under the direction of Miller's Family Orchard.
The trees will be planted next Friday, October 27.
