Despite the soggy weather Saturday the Genesee County Gospel Fest drew big crowds to Riverbank Park in downtown Flint.
The free family event is put on by New Life Tabernacle Ministries. It featured two-dozen performers, food vendors and bounce houses.
Organizers said they expect between 3,000 and 5,000 people over the weekend, and say the eventâ??s goal is more than just to provide family fun.
"It's just a conglomeration of people coming in one place, they're going to minister to the homeless and what a blessing to the city of Flint to aerate it with the gospel of Jesus Christ, this is powerful,â?? said Pastor Quintin Marshall.
Gospel Fest continues Sunday at Riverbank Park.
