Grand Blanc High School recognizes students in "Turn Around" breakfast

Grand Blanc High School recognized dozens of students striving for success, despite the hardships they maybe experiencing.

The 4th annual "Turn Around" breakfast was held Friday morning on campus.

Seventy-four students along with parents and caregivers enjoyed a breakfast as part of the celebration.

Organizers say this is the most students ever nominated since the program began four years ago.

Teachers, staff and administrators nominate students who have made huge strides academically, over coming personal challenges.

We spoke to two Grand Blanc High School counselors, who nominated students themselves, and say they couldn't be more proud to see students reach their full potential.

"I think it helps self-esteem and helps them feel worth while," said Pam Hall.

"This makes them feel noticed by their teachers, and they have done something that deserves to be noticed," added Mary Gardener.

Below are some of the comments that were made when describing some of the students:

"...he has over come many obstacles. He's now become a leader in class."

"...she has shown a new commitment to her education and has realized she has a bright future."
