Grand Blanc H.S. security guard arrested after thumb drive found with pornography

A Grand Blanc High School security guard has been arrested for allegedly storing pornographic material on a thumb drive.

In a statement released to parents and students Friday, Superintendent Dr. Norm Abdella said the security guard was arrested Friday and is awaiting charges.

According to the statement, a school security guard found the thumb drive on an East campus office computer January 9. She reported it to her supervisor after discovering it contained adult and child pornography.

Grand Blanc police identified the suspect as a contracted second-shift security guard.

Abdella said no Grand Blanc students were the subject of pornographic material.

He further stated in his letter, "I am extremely grateful to the individual, who first discovered the thumb drive, for doing the right thing and reporting it immediately to her supervisor."

Grand Blanc police say charges will be filed once investigators complete their examination of the computer.
