Grand Blanc Township police officer, suspect shot

Michigan State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened Monday afternoon in Grand Blanc Township. Grand Blanc Township police tell NBC25 that officers responded to a domestic complaint at a home in the 5000 block of N. Georgetown, near Genesee and Hill around 4:45 p.m.

Lt. Brian Cole with Michigan State Police said, when officers arrived, a woman ran out of the house, followed by a man with a gun. The man went inside when he saw police, then came back out with the gun in his hand. Cole said he opened fire at officers, who shot back. One officer and the suspect were shot and injured.

They were taken to Hurley Medical Center and are both expected to recover.

The investigation has been handed over to the Michigan State Police.
