Grand Blanc's whiz kid

Morgan Breneiser

At just 15 years old, Morgan Breneiser knows how to motivate people. The Grand Blanc High School student is organizing a race on Sunday to raise funds for the Grand Blanc Township police department's K-9 unit. While most students his age are focused on video games or social media, Morgan is out trying to help the community through words and deeds.

More than 100 have already registered for the Grand Blanc K-9 Pursuit, which consists of a 5K run, 5K walk and 2K fun run. It will be held Sunday morning October 14 at 9:30 at Creasy Bicentennial Park off Grand Blanc Road in Grand Blanc Township.

Volunteers? Check Morgan has organized them. Sponsors? Check, Morgan has several including US 23 Auto Care, Baumans and the Great Harvest Bread Company. The cause? He's all set with that too. Grand Blanc needs help with it's K-9 unit. So all the money will go to them.

Morgan isn't sure what he wants to do in life. He's thinking maybe an Engineer. All his efforts will be rewarded with a Boy Scout Eagle Scourt badge. Something he can wear proudly. Plus he can tell his friends: The 1st ever Grand Blanc K-9 Pursuit. Yup, I did that.
