The Bay City State Recreation Area is offering a Halloween preview later this month with a pumpkin-lit nature trail for families.
The recreation area says the trail will feature actors dressed as bats, wolves, rats and spiders.
Visitors who encounter the Halloween-themed animals will learn where their frightening reputations come from and how they're actually helpful to humans.
The hike is scheduled for 2 through 8 p.m. October 19th on the Andersen Nature Trail that begins at the Saginaw Bay visitors center. The event is free but requires either a day pass or a recreation passport for entry to the recreation area.
The recreation area is along Lake Huron in Bay County's Bangor and Kawkawlin townships, north of Bay City.
