Hazmat spill at Dow Corning under investigation

Dow Corning says it is investigating a hazardous material spill that occurred at its Midland manufacturing site Wednesday evening. In a statement a company spokesperson said there was a "minor chemical vapor release (ammonium chloride)." Local emergency responders were called to assist as Saginaw Road was closed between Salzburg and Mark Putnam. There were no injuries reported, and no danger to the public. The manufacturing site has returned to normal operation and Saginaw Road has been reopened. An investigation is underway.
