High speed chase ends with use of taser and pepper spray

Last night some troopers from the Michigan State Police were involved in a high speed chase in Tuscola County.

The MSP says the suspect vehicle, driven by a Kingston man, age 41, was going 99 mph on Hurds Corner Road near Rossman Road. The vehicle was going southbound and went through a stop sign. The vehicle then went eastbound on M-46.

The MSP was in pursuit with emergency lights and sirens activated. The suspect vehicle lost control and ended up in a ditch.

The driver was able to get out of the ditch, however, and pursuit continued.

The suspect vehicle again ended up in a ditch, this time becoming stuck.

Troopers approached the driver, who refused to follow their instructions.

This is when police say they used a taser on the suspect. However, the driver continued to resist.

Police then used pepper spray on the driver. The driver still resisted.

Additional Michigan State Troopers showed up and the driver was forcibly removed from the vehicle.

The name of the suspect will not be released until the suspect is charged and arraigned.

The suspect is currently in the Tuscola County Jail.
