Historic GM Willow Run plant expected to be demolished

The 5-million square-foot factory that made B-24 bombers in World War 2 is expected to be demolished soon, according to a report in the Detroit Free Press.

The plant closed in December of 2010.

A museum next door to the plant, the Yankee Air Museum, hopes to buy part of the property and expand the museum.

However, the Freep Press reports, the museum must raise $6 million by August 1.
