How you can help end Alzheimer's Disease

Betty O'Neill

This Saturday in Saginaw, the first of 3 local events called "Walk to End Alzheimer's" will be held. Events will also take place in Grand Blanc and Midland. It's part of the nationâ??s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimerâ??s care, support and research. They will be held in 600 communities nationwide. By the way, Alzheimerâ??s disease is the nationâ??s sixth-leading cause of death. According to the Alzheimer's Association of Michigan, their mission is "to eliminate Alzheimerâ??s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health". We all forget where we put our keys or where we put our phone. A spokeswoman for the group, Betty O'Neill of Midland says you'll know it's Alzheimer's if that forgetfulness really starts to impact your daily living.
