Huron County accident leaves car nearly torn in half

Aaron Herrington, the driver of the vehicle, is currently being treated at an area hospital.

This morning the Huron County Sheriff's Office responded to an accident that left a car ripped in half and its driver in the hospital.

At about 6:30 am the sheriff's office went to M-142, west of Schock Road, in Sand Beach Township.

Officials say that their investigation shows that Aaron Herrington, a 26-year-old from Bad Axe, was going eastbound on M-142 in his 2000 Pontiac Grand Am. Herrington swerved right to avoid hitting another eastbound vehicle and hit a tree.

Herrington had to be freed from his vehicle by the Harbor Beach Fire Department. The car was almost ripped entirely in half.

Currently Herrington is being treated at the Harbor Beach Hospital.

There were no other injuries reported.
