Does you bathroom look like a disaster area? Is black mold rampant? If you'd love to re-do it, but don't have a lot of money, Doug Maikidon from Home Depot has a great solution.
Let's start with the toilet. Don says you can change yours for about $70.00. He says it's not as easy as changing a light bulb, but it's close. You may need a little more money than that to install the one I want. It involves 2 buttons on the top of the toilet, one is for lquid waste, the other for solids. It's a water saver and if you're on city water, that will save you money in the long run.
Next step: the vanity. For under $100.00 you can get a pretty cool looking vanity. It's easy to install, but the plumbing parts are a little tricky. C'mon you can do it!
Next up the tile. (see picture) They are doing all sorts of cool tiles and it's not expnsive. You can install a backsplash yourself, with new adhesive sheets now on the market. You may have to rent or borrow a device to cut the tile. Tile flooring isn't as easy. But Don says don't be afraid of it. If you bring the tile to the store, they'll cut it for you.
Sometimes January can depressing. And let's face it, many of you are short on cash. (hey even me) Doug says a lot of people use their income tax money to fix up their bathroom. If you do it youself, you'll save some money.
