Jailed Mt. Morris woman gives birth then sent back to prison

Authorities reported on Tuesday that jailed Mt. Morris resident Alisha Hall was transported to the hospital so she could deliver her child and was then sent right back to prison.

Hall is accused on charges that she took pictures while her hsuband sexually abused their infant daughter. She is being held in Genesee County Jail.

Hall is being charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and child sexually abusive activity after police say she photographed her husband, Daniel A. Hall, while he sexually assaulted their then-6-month-old daugher.

Genesee County Jail Administrator Major Phil Hart said the circumstances of each inmate giving birth are different and are reviewed by Children's Protective Services.

David Akerly, director of marketing and public relations for the Michigan Department of Human Services, said that a child isn't automatically taken from a mother when it is born while the mother is incarcerated. Authorities had previously said they would seek to end the Hall's parental rights.
