Kettering holds Young Inventors Fair for area schools

The City of Flint got the chance to probe the creative minds of about 120 students from 14 Genesee County school district during a Young Inventors Fair.

The 13th annual event at Kettering University took place in two sessions where students showed off 100 inventions.

More than 1,000 students and 21 teachers participated in the program, sponsored by the Genesee Intermediate School District.

"Its been so exciting because it's innovation at its best. Kids solving everyday problems and showing it to other students solving everyday problems that brought it here." said Jami Neubecker of Indian Hill Elementary.

The program engages students in critical thinking via math, science, language arts and social studies.
