Veterans Day is approaching and the Knights of Columbus are working to honor America's guardians of freedom.
The Knights of Columbus call Sunday's ceremony their small way of giving back to veterans.
The Veterans Memorial Monument project took three years to complete and is the newest addition to the National Great Lakes Cemetery.
The monument honors all uniformed service members and is part of the Knights of Columbus' tradition.
The dedication service including retired service men and women and civilians.
"It's not a sense of gratification we get from doing this its almost like a duty to those who so much sacrificed for what we have here in America today," said George Walrath, Knights of Columbus.
The monument is located in the back of the Great Lakes National Cemetery grounds.
