A Saginaw-area mobile home park resident says she's facing a water bill that's bigger than her rent and heat combined because she followed advice to keep taps open to prevent pipes from freezing.
Thirty-eight-year-old Susan Byron lives in the Robin Glen Mobile Home Community in Saginaw County's Buena Vista Township.
She tells The Saginaw News her water pipes froze and burst many times.
Byron says she got a two-month water bill for $757.88 on March 28th. That's up from the $70-80 she normally gets from the mobile home park, which resells water it buys from the township.
Park says management advised residents to let their water run when temperatures dipped below freezing in order to keep waterlines from freezing. She says she's seeking an adjustment and a payment plan.
