Linden teacher dies in snowmobile crash

Police say a 34-year-old snowmobiler has died after another snowmobile struck him in Washtenaw County.

Police say the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. Thursday in York Township, about 35 miles southwest of Detroit.

Police identify him as Andrew J. Kargel of Saline. The Ann Arbor News says he was a teacher in the Linden Public Schools.

State police Sgt. Mark Thompson says two snowmobilers were riding on a road, with one following the other. Thompson says Kargel fell off and was struck by the second snowmobile.

      The crash remains under investigation.
