Lower water, higher temperatures

Some relief is in sight from the flooding along the Tittabawassee River and other local rivers and streams.

Drier, warmer weather is on its way to the area tomorrow.

This will help local rivers and streams to fall back below flood stage.

According to the National Weather Service, the Rifle River near Sterling, the Saginaw, and Tittabawassee rivers should fall below flood stage by tomorrow evening.

The Manistee River near Sherman is expected to fall below flood stage by Saturday.

Although some rain is in the forecast Friday, Sunday, and possibly Tuesday of next week, rainfall amounts should be light enough to allow the above rivers to continue falling.

In the meantime, temperatures will generally stay close to our seasonal averages through the extended forecast.
