Man accused of Flint woman's murder found competent to stand trial

Tanisha Colton's body was found in a ditch in Monroe County on March 25.

Henry Conner, age 28, was found competent to stand trial for the murder of his 27-year-old girlfriend.

Conner has been charged with murdering Tanisha Colton and dumping her body in a ditch, all while Colton's children slept in the car they were all riding in.

Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said that Conner suffocated Colton in her sleep after she accused him of sexually assaulting a child.

Police say Conner drugged the children, putting them to sleep, before driving to Ohio, and then back to Michigan where he dumped Colton's body.

The body was found by a passing motorist on March 25 in Ash Township, about 70 miles south of Flint.

Colton was first reported missing on March 13.
