Man behind Flint mayor recall effort gives his reasons why
FLINT, Mich. - We are learning more about the recall effort for Flint's Mayor Karen Weaver.
Arthur Woodson, the man who filed the petition to recall the mayor, was at Monday’s Flint city council meeting.
We spoke to him for the first time Monday on why he wanted the mayor recalled.
"You have Rizzo, where they fought us, the people and city council tooth and nail. You have the $120,000 they are taking out the water fund and give to Aonie Gilcrist. She's not fighting for us. Then you have the mishap with Skylar Davis where they tried to circumvent the city council. You have $741,000 that I just asked about why the $552,000 hasn't come back to the city, yet,” said Woodson.
This is the third petition filed against weaver.
Last week the Genesee County Board of Electors approved the language of the petition.
Woodson is waiting 10 days before collecting the 7,000 signatures needed to put the recall on the ballot.
He is waiting to see if Mayor Weaver will file an appeal.
