A Traverse City man who told police that he accidentally shot his girlfriend during a suicide attempt has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
Robert Caldwell entered the pleas Friday in a Traverse City court to that charge as well as causing death with a gun while drunk and resisting police.
Monica Anderson was fatally shot in November at an apartment shared with Caldwell and two children.
Authorities have said Caldwell was negligent but didn't intend to shoot Anderson.
Caldwell faces up to 17 years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced April 17.
