Police say they're looking into how a man who was shot in Flint ended up at a hospital roughly 50 miles away in suburban Detroit, where he died.
The Flint Journal reports Thursday that police were notified about 19-year-old Daren L. Bowden's death at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
Police say they determined that Bowden was shot about 3 p.m. Wednesday in Flint.
Former Flint Police Chief Brad Barksdale lives in the area where the shooting took place and was outside clearing his driveway of snow at the time. Barksdale says he heard gunfire and saw people drive away.
They passed a hospital en route to the highway.
No arrests have been made in the case.
