The man killed in Saturday's trooper-involved shooting has been identified as 26-year-old Gary Hatcher.
A man wanted by federal officials is dead after an early-morning traffic stop in Mount Morris Township.
A Michigan State Police officer shot and killed the man after officials say he fled during a traffic stop saturday around 3:30 a.m.
Police say the man fled on foot from the intersection of Ridgeway Avenue and Montrose Street.
The officer was able to track down the suspect who then tried to take the officer's weapon.
The trooper then shot and killed the suspect during the struggle.
The trooper was not injured during the incident.
Per department police, the officer has been placed on administrative leave.
The suspect was wanted on a felony warrant from the U.S. Marshals Office for weapon-related offenses and had two misdemeanor warrants from the City of Flint Police Department.
The incident remains under investigation.
