Authorities say a man who died after being struck by two vehicles while walking on Interstate 75 in Bay County was a student at Saginaw Valley State University.
21-year-old Derrick Ammons, who investigators say lived in the Saginaw area, was from the Detroit suburb of Westland.
Authorities say Ammons died after being struck after he walked into the roadway of Interstate 75 on Saturday night in Bay County's Frankenlust Township. The sheriff's department says Ammons had crashed into a concrete divider in the center of the expressway.
Saginaw Valley State spokesman J.J. Boehm says Ammons was majoring in criminal justice. Ammons also was a member of the school's club dodgeball team.
Arrangements are being handled by Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home in Westland.
