      Mays guilty of impaired driving, sentencing next month

      A Flint jury has come back with a verdict in the trial of a Flint city councilman accused of drinking and driving.


      The jury acquitted Eric Mays of three misdemeanors.


      He was found guilty of impaired driving; and the jury was deadlocked on a fifth charge of failing to report an accident.


      The charges stem from an arrest back in November.


      He was accused of driving under the influence and driving the wrong-way down the interstate on four flat tires.


      Mays, who defended himself, will be sentenced on the impaired driving charge next month.
