McLaren announces new hospital in Lansing
LANSING, Mich. – A big announcement came Monday when it comes to your choices for health care.
It's an announcement that some say could change the face of healthcare in the area.
Officials with McLaren Healthcare are moving forward with a brand new nearly half- billion-dollar hospital which will be in the Lansing area.
The hospital will have 250 rooms including state of the art emergency and operating rooms and a new cancer center.
This could have a big impact for Genesee County in terms of new jobs.
"I think that the ripple effect will be some employment impact in Genesee county that will be positive and I think that's something that we expect to take place he communities aren't that far apart the other is simply the brand I mean McLaren is a Flint brand it's going to continue to be a Flint Genesee brand as we move else throughout the state with this project and another one in Indiana that's a brand that it's strength will bring strength to Genesee county as well,” said McLaren CEO Philip Incarnati.
The project is expected to break ground soon and should be completed by 2021.
