Thursday saw rain earlier in the day, followed by snow and bitter cold temperatures at night.

That means one thing: bad driving conditions.

We've seen and heard about a lot of minor accidents due to the conditions.

The roads are slick throughout Mid-Michigan, so make sure to take your time and drive slow.

Black ice is a big concern, especially on bridges and roads near water.

We caught up with the Michigan Department of Transportation earlier in the day.

They assured the public that they're ready for anything.

"Should anything happen, our crews are prepared to go ahead and call in first shift early, keep second shift late if we need to, any of those means that are necessary to make sure our roads are clear for motorists, we'll go ahead and take those measures," said spokesperson Jocelyn Hall.

It's not just the roads, but also sidewalks and parking lots can get icy on nights like tonight, so be careful.
