Two men have been sentenced to prison in a 2005 Flint-area arson that killed a 25-year-old woman and her 7-year-old daughter.
35-year-old Garner Wood and 29-year-old Deandre Chambers, both of Flint, were sentenced after earlier pleading no contest to second-degree murder in the deaths of Kokona Vaughn and her daughter, Ze'ona Burress.
Wood was sentenced Wednesday to 14 years and 8 months to 22 years. Chambers was sentenced Thursday to 14 to 22 years.
Prosecutors say the men were members of the Pierson Hood gang and the fire Sept. 9, 2005, at Westwood Manor apartments in Genesee County's Mount Morris Township was set to flush out a rival they wanted to kill. That person wasn't in the building.
Two other men are awaiting sentencing.
