Court officials and the Saginaw County Prosecutor's Office says that Michael Lawrence is still being brought back to Saginaw and is expected next week.
The prosecutor's office told NBC25 that once Lawrence arrives he will be arraigned the next business day.
Lawrence, along with 3 others, were accused of killing 6-year-old Lay'la Jones on August 29, 2012. The other three involved are already in custody.
Additionally Lawrence was being sought for the murder of Angelica Olivarez, who is the mother of his child, in April of this year. His three-year-old son was found wandering outside, in the rain, for hours after the killing, according to police.
A nationwide search has been going on for more than a year. Billboards, a Facebook campaign, and other methods were all employed as part of the manhunt.
He was finally found and captured on August 30th in Las Vegas, almost exactly one year after the death of Lay'la Jones. He waived his right to an extradition hearing and is now being brought back to Saginaw.
