Michigan State Police are helping patrol in Flint, Saginaw

The Michigan State Police wants residents in Flint and Saginaw to know they are committed to keeping them safe.

Flint has more than two dozen state troopers patrolling the city.

Saginaw has 10 state troopers patrolling there.

MSP also helps the local departments with detective work and community programs.

Lt. Brian Cole says the collaboration is working to keep more criminals off the streets. "The Michigan State Police is committed to working with the officers at Flint City and Saginaw City to continue to help their communities become safer. We want them to also understand that our efforts are working."

Saginaw recently announced that they are eliminating 36 police officer positions.
