      Michigan State Police graduate, more being recruited

      T here are eighty-two new State Troopers following Friday's graduation.

      G overnor Rick Snyder served as the keynote speaker at the ceremony.

      115 prospective troopers reported to MSP training academy on January 5th when the 126th Trooper Recruit School Began.

      Twenty-one weeks late r 82 made it through.

      Some of the training included firearms, water safety, defensive tactics, patrol techniques and ethics.

      T his addition comes as Flint's Emergency Manager proposes laying off 36 police officers from the city's force.

      F lint will now have 54 state troopers assisting its police department.
