Around 10:15 last night Michigan State Police (MSP) troopers fatally shot a suspect.

It happened in Flint at the Evergreen Regency Apartments.

According to the MSP, two troopers were on what they call "proactive patrol" when they stopped to speak with a suspicious subject.

The suspect turned and ran, and the troopers pursued on foot.

After a short distance, authorities say, the suspect stopped and pulled out a gun.

When the troopers ordered the suspect to drop the weapon, the suspect refused.

It was then that the troopers opened fire and fatally shot the suspect.

The troopers were placed on administrative leave, which the MSP says is department policy.

This incident is still under investigation.
