Midland flooding causes road closures, breaches dam

Midland officials say that conditions are "imropoving" at this hour in the County.

They say current river levels are just below 28 ft.

Waterways were expected to crest at 28.5 ft. late Friday night.

Authorities say many local roads remain flooded.

Authorities in Midland County also responded to the Kawkawlin flooding in Mills Township.

Officials say a 12 ft. section of the dam along Dyke Road was breached early Friday afternoon.

Midland County road crews temporarily filled the hole to prevent water from affecting homes east of the dam.

Officials say the situation is under control. They say the dam is a "low risk dam."
