Milder temperatures arrive, along with a wintry mess

Thursday night's weather will throw a challenge our way for the last day of the workweek.

A cold front sliding in from the northwest tomorrow evening will slow to a near-standstill over Mid-Michigan Thursday night into early Friday morning.

An area of low pressure riding right along this frontal boundary will bring increased rain and snow coverage to the area Thursday night into Friday morning.

Since the freezing line will likely hover right around Genesee county and the Great Lakes Bay region, it will be very challenging to predict who gets mostly rain, and who gets mostly snow.

At this point, we're thinking areas north of Saginaw have a shot at picking up a significant snowfall accumulation of 2-4".

From Flint to the south where more rain is expected, snow accumulations will likely be a half-inch or less.
