The Millington School District is closing Friday, as a precautionary measure, after a student tested positive for H-1-N-1 strain of the flu.
Officials with the Tuscola County Health Department tell NBC25, they were informed by the Genesee County Health Department that one male student has contracted the virus.
The student, who lives in Genesee County, but attends school in Millington is being treated at a local hospital.
"It is the flu that is seen most commonly in the community. The best defense against the flu is to get vaccinated. It is not to late to be vaccinated and we encourage people to be come vaccinated", says Tuscola County Heath Official Gretchen Tenbusch.
The school district decided to close at it's own discretion, not at the direction of the health department.
If you think you have symptoms of H1N1 go see your doctor.
