It's was an institution in tiny Rosebush, in Clare County. Now the Baumannâ??s Superette is gone.
It was destoyed by fire Wednesday night.
According to the Morning Sun, fire crews from eight area departments battled the blaze that destroyed the building that was a former IGA. Isabella Northeast Fire Chief Matt Kampf said the building is a total loss and that damages were nearing $1 million.
They fought the massive fire for more than 5 hours. Firefighters from Mt. Pleasant, Shepherd, Nottawa-Sherman Townships, Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Fire, Coleman, Clare and Surrey Township in Clare County were called to the scene. It's unclear how it started. Owner Steve Baumann, tells the Morning Sun he plans to rebuild.
