Mobile home fire leaves family without a home

Fire ripped through the mobile home in a matter of minutes.

A couple and their two children are left without a home after a fire swept through their mobile home early Tuesday morning.

It happened around 2:00 a.m. at American Estates Mobile Home Park in Flint.

Mutual aid was called in to help.

"If we'd been sleeping I don't think we would have made it out in time," said Josh Davis, who had just moved his fianceé and two young children to Flint from Nashville, Tennessee.

Monday was supposed to be their first night in a new home.

"There goes my new life up in flames," added Claudia Wilson, Josh's fianceé.

The American Red Cross is providing the family bare essentials like diapers and a hotel room for the next few days.

Just minutes before the mobile home fire, Flint firefighters were called out to a fire on Concord.

Fire officials say no one was home at the time.

The cause of both fires is under investigation.
