Bay County is starting its mosquito abatement program today.
A spray, toxic to mosquitoes, will be over Williams, Beaver, and Monitor Townships today. There will be one white and one yellow plane doing the task.
Midland and Saginaw Counties will also soon be spraying for mosquitoes as well.
Midland County officials say that they use a naturally occurring bacterium called Bti. Bti is toxic to mosquitoes and other biting flies but doesn't harm other life or the environment, according to officials.
