Last week, a Muslim woman was told by amusement park employees that she couldn TMt ride on the park TMs rides because of her head covering. The event sparked a massive brawl, and ended in over a dozen arrests.
The New York Daily News reports a group of Muslims went to the Rye Playland last Tuesday to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr- the holiday marking the end of Ramadan.
A group of women stood in line for a ride, but when she got to the front the employee told her she TMd have to remove her hijab, Islamic head scarf. The park stated that they have a rule that forbids all hats and scarfs from rides due to safety.
The group reportedly began to argue with the employees. Soon, a fight broke out between employees and the park visitors. Police were called, and the park was shut down.
