SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Friday is National Wear Red for Women Day!

Women, and men, across the country, are wearing red, to help bring awareness to, the number one killer, heart disease.

Locally, there was a, wear red for women event, at the Horizons Center, in Saginaw Township, put on by, the American Heart Association.

It was all about, great health, survival stories, and important information, that could save your life.

"Go Red for Women encourages women to be conscious of their heart health, because it's the number one killer of women. Just because today is Wear Red Day and we're having the Go Red Luncheon today, this isn't the only day we want you conscious of your heart health. This is a year long project, it doesn't have a start day or an end day, it's important to be conscious of that," said Stacy Sawyer of the American Heart Association.

NBC25 & FOX66 were proud sponsors of the luncheon and our own Leslie Toldo emceed.
